The Power of Blessing Your Body: How it Leads to Healing

February 01, 20233 min read

Get Started Now on Blessing Your Body Everyday

Blessing your body is about accepting yourself and speaking declarations about the promises of Gods word over your own body. Start by acknowledging the beauty and strength within yourself as you take a few deep breaths. Then, begin blessing your body with heavenly truths you know to be true but maybe don't yet believe. I carried so much shame in my body for YEARS. About the way it looked, how it had failed me, things that had happened to me, the number on the scale, my extra curves, etc. I had shame in every aspect. My weight has gone up and down over the years, I have had several chronic health struggles, miscarriages, and it left me in a puddle of desperation in front of the Lord one day. I was begging for Him to free me from weight and health issues etc.

In my moment of desperation He said Why would I give you victory in this area, when you spend so much time cursing what I made to be good?”

I sat there on my bed- room floor, completely surrendered this area of my life to Him. The power of life and death is in the tongue, yet I had been cursing my body for years and expecting it to thrive.

I have been on a mission to be at peace with my body and teach others how to do the same ever since that day. I still am passionate about taking care of my body, but now I do it through a grace filled space.

When I started healing up these thought patterns, and old wounds the Lord started pulling out the root of the lie that I was believing. He opened up all kinds of areas of freedom in my thinking. No matter what your story is, whether it’s body image issues, chronic health issues, negative thinking patterns. The Lord can heal it.

We can start by aligning our language with God’s word. The Bible isn’t just words on a page. When we speak scripture or ourselves, we’re releasing what Heaven says about it. Even when we don’t believe it, it unlocks something in the spiritual realm, and then that helps us to start build that belief.

This is called releasing the power of Heaven. The Lord has unlimited resources, He has an unlimited army. When we release the power of heaven it’s not just mind over matter, or shifts happening on intellectual level. The Lord defies all matters of space and time, and only with Him can we defeat the lies that we have believed. This is what BLESSING Releases in our lives.

This could be anything from “I am whole and complete” to “I am powerful and capable”. Focus on different parts of your body each day and speak these affirmations until you connect to the power of Heaven that area of your body. I like to put my hands over my heart as I speak them out over myself.

I read the book the Power of Blessing by Kerry Kirkwood a few years back and it changed my life forever. In fact, his concept on BLESSING is what inspired the BLESS YOUR BODY DEVOTIONAL.

Jen Bayer

My name is Jen Bayer. I am a Wife, Mom to two boys, and Holistic Health Coach and the founder of Exalted Health.  I struggled for YEARS with body image issues, and chronic health issues. For over 30 years I tried every diet and fitness program available to try to finally "arrive" at a weight I thought would make me happy. The Lord started to speak to me about this area of my life years ago, and since then has brought so much freedom to my life. I have worn many different sizes over the years, and I feel more freedom now in a larger size than I ever did when I wore a smaller size.  I now rest in the fact that my value and worth comes from Christ alone. No number on the scale, no pants size or achievement can bring the peace and rest that He can.  I have been a business owner in the health and nutrition field since 2008. I have helped thousands of people transform their health, and their faith walk. My mission and greatest desire is to lead women to the cross, and in a deeper healing journey with Jesus. I have been trained in biblically sound unique methods to guide you in your healing process, and to teach you to walk in greater authority in Christ.
