Inner Healing and the Nervous System

If you have been praying for healing for a long time, and are still waiting on your miracle...but you know what the Lords word says...

I am the Lord who heals you....Exodus 15:26

I invite you to continue to stand on that promise. I know I stood on it for YEARS praying to be healed.

Every single time I was prayed for, I know I felt a shift. Then the Lord started talking to me about my nervous system. He started showing me how I had all this built up trauma that I had been carrying for years of chronic illness, from life events etc.

He started teaching my about how trauma can get trapped in our physiology. We can be prayed for, feel healing come and then our physiology and habits pull us right back out of that place of healing. We need to create an environment of peace in our bodies to truly heal. When the nervous system is in a state of peace, the mind can truly be at peace.

The nervous system is the major source of input for the body. So we can TELL ourselves we are at peace all day long, until the nervous system is in a state of peace that will never feel true. The mind and the nervous system are closely connected.When the mind and body are stressed, the nervous system will also be stressed. No amount of deep breathing, positive thinking or affirmations can regulate a nervous system that is out of sorts.

How do we move towards healing?

  1. Reduce stress and stress response, Practicing nervous system regulation exercises regularly will allow the nervous system to down shift and function at a slower pace.

  2. Releasing trauma or buried emotions through a safe bodywork practitioner who practices somatic release.

  3. Associate with our bodies, being present within our bodies

  4. Working through triggers/lies we believe. The lies we believe create the battles we fight.
