Bless Your Body Devotional

Most women I know strongly dislike their bodies. We spend a lifetime hating, shaming and punishing our bodies, when that is not the Lords intention for us. God created our bodies to be GOOD.

"I praise you because you are fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." - Psalm 139:14

Hating and shaming yourself into a healthier body has NEVER worked, so what if you tried a grace filled blessing along with your morning devotion? What if this could change the way you looked at, and LOVED yourself. In this devotional, it provides guided devotions and prayers to sit with the Lord each morning and release all the blessings of what Heaven says about you. We are woven together in the depths of the Earth. It's time we started treating ourselves as such.

Heal!

Heal! So you can HEAR without the filter of your wounds

June 14, 20233 min read

We all carry scars from past experiences that shape how we interact with the world around us.

Sometimes these wounds can act as filters, distorting the way we perceive the words and actions of those around us. It's not until we take the time to heal these wounds that we can fully understand and communicate with others. By doing the work to heal past traumas, we open ourselves up to the possibility of deep connections and meaningful relationships. In this blog post, we'll explore the importance of healing your wounds in order to hear what's being said without the filter of your past.

  1. Identify triggers and unhealed emotions:

The first step in healing your wounds is to identify and acknowledge them. Take inventory of the traumas you've experienced and how they've impacted you. This can include experiences like childhood abuse, relationship issues, or major life transitions. By getting help for these wounds, you can start to see how they might be influencing your perception of the world around you.

  1. Seek Help:

Healing from past traumas isn't something you have to do alone. Seeking the help of a body work therapist or other mental health professional can be incredibly beneficial. They can provide guidance and support as you clear out and heal your past traumas and help you develop healthy coping mechanisms to deal with your emotions and triggers.

  1. Regulate and Rest:

Being still with the Lord is an incredibly powerful tool when it comes to healing past traumas. Being present in the moment and focusing on your breath or other sensations can help calm your mind and body. This can be especially helpful if you find yourself triggered by a situation or conversation. Take a few deep breaths and try to focus on the present moment. This can help you approach the situation from a more grounded and centered place.

  1. Practice Self-Compassion, reduce stress and stress response:

Healing from past traumas can be a long and difficult journey. It's important to practice self-compassion along the way. Be gentle with yourself and allow yourself time to heal. This can include taking time for self-care activities like going for a walk, taking a bath, or reading a book. Remind yourself that healing is a process, and it's okay to take things one step at a time.

  1. Putting language to emotions:

Once you've started to work through your past traumas, you will notice that you mind will continue to race when you are triggered. By putting language to emotion through prayer, journaling or talk therapy you will start to recognize the unhealthy patterns and behaviors.

  1. Learn to regulate and calm your nervous system:

A dys-regulated nervous system will continue to keep you stuck. Practicing the tools and exercises that allow your body to shift out of flight or flight, will allow your thinking to slow down and make rational calm decisions. Learn tools that will change your ability to self regulate and initiate calm response here.

Healing from past traumas takes time and effort, but the benefits are well worth it. By doing the work to heal your wounds, you open up the possibility of truly hearing and understanding those around you. Remember to be patient and compassionate with yourself along the way. With time and practice, you can develop healthy coping mechanisms and create deeper connections with the people in your life. Take the first step towards healing today - your future self will thank you!

Jen Bayer

My name is Jen Bayer. I am a Wife, Mom to two boys, and Holistic Health Coach and the founder of Exalted Health.  I struggled for YEARS with body image issues, and chronic health issues. For over 30 years I tried every diet and fitness program available to try to finally "arrive" at a weight I thought would make me happy. The Lord started to speak to me about this area of my life years ago, and since then has brought so much freedom to my life. I have worn many different sizes over the years, and I feel more freedom now in a larger size than I ever did when I wore a smaller size.  I now rest in the fact that my value and worth comes from Christ alone. No number on the scale, no pants size or achievement can bring the peace and rest that He can.  I have been a business owner in the health and nutrition field since 2008. I have helped thousands of people transform their health, and their faith walk. My mission and greatest desire is to lead women to the cross, and in a deeper healing journey with Jesus. I have been trained in biblically sound unique methods to guide you in your healing process, and to teach you to walk in greater authority in Christ.
